Nyege Nyege presents BADSISTA and Caipora de Cativeiro presents, Swiss ancestral culture preservation program and Hybrid Futures

In 2020 Nyege Nyege explored various digital utopias, collaborating with 40+ collectives around the continent in order to produce a show for TV and internet, while at the same time building up our wider community and standing behind our vision despite the pandemic. Today Uganda has handled the pandemic well, yet in other countries covid is still raging. When we were proposed to curate a digital residency with In/Out Festival and Sonic Matters Festival, we tried to go against all logic and instead of doing an "online collaboration" we've invited a Swiss Yodeler and four Brazilian artists, two of whom had never travelled out of Brazil, to take part in a "real residency", where we all get packed in the house and make music, friendships, temporary utopias and memories.

BADSISTA and Caipora de Cativeiro presents

An audio visual anthology with no order to follow. Fragments of memories have been hidden in digital dimensions to save the world's population from a global mindset disaster. This is an attempt to unlock a hidden gate that might give you a chance to connect the past in order to hack the now.

In Collaboration with BADSISTA (Brazil), Caipora de Cativeiro (Brazil), MC Yallah (Uganda), Kabochi (Kenya), Turkana (South Sudan), Rey Sapienz (DRC).
